During our visit, we joined a friendly queue that moved swiftly, and in just 15 minutes, we were ready to explore the menu. We sampled four pastries, starting with a spinach and ricotta Danish—perfectly baked but a touch too sweet for our taste due to a honey glaze. However, the real stars were the almond croissant and honey sesame treat, both bursting with flavor and texture. It's no wonder this café has captured the hearts of so many; each bite is a celebration of culinary craftsmanship that keeps the lines forming day after day!

On my latest visit, I finally savored the much-talked-about Beef Pie. While it didn’t quite reach the heights of my expectations set by the legendary Sausage Roll, it still delivered a satisfying experience. Though the service can be hit or miss, the bakery’s French-inspired offerings make it a worthwhile destination for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of authenticity.

Indulging in a truffle croissant from this charming bakery is like savoring a bite of pure bliss! The sausage roll is a showstopper, potentially the best I’ve encountered in Melbourne, while the almond croissant and pain aux raisins are equally tempting. Arriving just as they open, I was met with patience as I pondered my choices. My first bite of the pain au chocolat was nothing short of dreamy, embodying everything a pastry should be. As you step into Cobb Lane, the enticing aroma of freshly baked bread envelops you, igniting your anticipation for a delightful culinary experience. I couldn't resist trying their cinnamon bun ($7.50) alongside a smooth batch brew ($4.50). While the atmosphere sparkled with promise, my expectations fell slightly short; I prefer my cinnamon buns to be irresistibly soft, and this one leaned a tad too dry for my taste. Nonetheless, Cobb Lane remains a shining star in Melbourne’s western suburbs, consistently delivering high-quality treats and impeccable service. Among my personal favorites are the almond croissant and the decadent carrot cake, both of which have earned a permanent place in my heart.

Despite the slight letdown with the cinnamon bun, the allure of Cobb Lane's pastries is undeniable. The Black Sesame Croissant ($14.00) and Spanakopita Croissant, a delightful twist on the traditional Greek spinach pie, beckon with their promise of crispy exteriors and rich flavors. While my experience with the cinnamon bun didn't quite match the stunning visuals showcased on social media, Cobb Lane still ranks among my top three bakeries in Melbourne. With every visit, the potential for a perfect pastry keeps me returning, eager to uncover the hidden gems that await within this charming bakery.
