Step into a culinary journey where charm meets flavor, but beware the pitfalls that can dampen the experience. While the ambiance of this Italian gem has potential, the clinical lighting and lack of character cast a shadow over what could be a delightful evening. Our server, though friendly, seemed to lack the spark that elevates dining, leaving us waiting far too long for our meal. However, the allure of this small establishment beckoned us to stay, and we were greeted by the delightful Arancini, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor.

Yet, the adventure took a turn with the carbonara, which, while tasty, fell a bit short on moisture. Our hopes for the duck ravioli were dashed when it turned out to be bland, and the service felt uninspired at times. Still, amidst the culinary highs and lows, there were moments of genuine connection, especially with the engaging staff member. This restaurant holds promise, but it’s clear that with a few adjustments, it could truly shine.

  • Address:

    15 Edgar St, North Canberra

  • Popular Menu:

    Galettes, Crêpes, Cider, Salads, Coffee

  • Price Range:

    $10 - $25 AUD

At Breizh Cafe, the culinary journey begins with a delightful selection that tantalizes the taste buds. The galette prawn was a star, bursting with flavor, while the crepe, though pleasant, lacked the wow factor. The canele, a caramelized rum cake, was decent but didn’t quite hit the mark for a second order. The anticipation for my flat white stretched to twenty minutes, and while the buttery croissant was a heavenly indulgence, the service felt a tad disjointed as takeaway orders were prioritized over dine-in patrons.

Yet, the charm of Breizh Cafe shines through its inviting French-inspired ambiance, adorned with art and flags that evoke a sense of wanderlust. Perfect for a lovely breakfast, it offers a cozy escape in Ainslie, where each bite is a step closer to Parisian bliss. Whether for a romantic morning or a casual outing, this cafe is a delightful destination worth exploring, even if a few details could elevate the experience further.

What a delightful surprise awaits at this charming café! After a morning spent conquering the trails at Cotter Pines MTB park, we stumbled upon this gem, and it did not disappoint. The moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and the enticing aroma of freshly baked pastries. I indulged in a roll stuffed with salmon and vibrant vegetables, and while the salmon could have been more generous, the overall flavor was exceptional. The side salad was a burst of freshness, perfectly complementing the meal.

This quaint café, with both indoor and outdoor seating, exudes a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home. The friendly staff knows every patron by name, a testament to their community spirit. Don’t miss out on their delectable cakes and pastries, available even during the quieter summer months. If you’re in Weston, this café is a must-visit for a memorable culinary experience!
